We are looking forward to welcoming you to Sabie.

The COVID-19 protocol that we have put in place is for the safety and reassurance of staff and guests.


Prior to arrival (payments and registration)

In order to reduce exposure to establisment staff and equipement we have implemented the following requirements.

  • Full payment must be received prior to arrival. 
    Payment may be done via bank EFT, Credit Card (request credit card linK), GEO payments via  FNB App.
  • Registration documents and Covid-19 Questionnaires will be forwarded at the time of reservation and need to be completed and returned prior to arrival. (All guests)
  • A copy of all guests Identity documents will be required - please bring along a copy.

Check-in procedures

Screening of guests on arrival has become necessary in accordance with the national state of disaster pronounced by President Cyril Ramaphosa on 15 March 2020. Therefore, in order to prevent an infected person from checking into the establishment guests will be required to:

  • wear a mask at all times when they arrival on the premises.
  • allow their temperature to be scanned with a thermal scanner.
  • keep required social distance of 1.5m from all other guests and staff.

If a guest’s temperature falls within the normal range and they do not show any symptoms they will be required to sanitize their hands and proceed to check-in.

If a guest’s temperature is high (actual temperature at screening should not exceed 37.5 degrees Celsius) and/or they have symptoms of the virus they will be disallowed to check-in and will be referred to a medical facility.

Guest hand sanitizers are placed in easy reach of guests in their units as well as entrance points to their units.


Guests Apartments

The Apartments will be cleaned and sanitizer with the appropriate disinfectants prior to guests arrival.

 Unnecessary items will be removed from guest rooms, such as decorative pillows, room folders (available On-line) notepads, pens, magazines, books etc.

Sanitizer will be available for guests use at the entrance of the apartment and inside the apartment.

Housekeeping offerings will be modified for stay-over guests, including the elimination of a full cleaning service unless specifically requested by guests.  Should daily housekeeping be required, a time will be arranged when guests are out for the day.  No linen will be changed during the stay.

Enhanced and thorough cleaning protocols will be implemented in guest apartments. After Guests departure, prior to new guests arrival the unit, linens and all touch points, for example, faucets, door handles, light switches s and hangers will be cleaned with chemicals aimed at killing COVID-19.


Establishment Staff

Establishment  Employees and Staff Requirements:

a. All establishment employees will be temperature tested on arrival for duty.

b. Establishment employees will follow strict guidelines, including frequent and stringent hand-washing protocols, and all staff will wear masks at all times. Hand sanitizers are available to staff on arrival and through out their working day.  

c. Maximum two staff member will be allowed to enter the Apartment for cleaning when necessary.

d. Educating staff on what the virus is; ways in which it is transmitted; symptoms to look out for; and daily measures to prevent contamination and spread of viruses. Personal hygiene is being reiterated, including the importance of washing hands frequently and thoroughly; avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth; practicing respiratory hygiene (sneezing and coughing into a tissue that is safely discarded or the crook of the elbow), and avoiding touching one’s face;

e. Employees will be encouraged to stay home if unwell and to communicate their potential exposure to COVID-19 with management.


Pool and Communal areas

a.  Pool facilities are open and are to be used at own risk.  Please bring your own pool towels.
b. No gatherings/groups will be allowed in any communal area of the establishment.
c.  Guests are requested to remain in the areas designated to their Apartments.

Sabie Self Catering Apartments are fully equipped for your self catering needs.
SPAR supermarket is a 5 minute walk from our Apartments.

Various restaurants with in a 5 minutes walk are offering take away and sit down meals.
Reservations are encourage for all " sit down" meals.

Vouchers can be issued for most restaurants in Sabie.
